Laverda 500 Engine and Frame Numbers

[SeeDoubleYou]

Can someone point me at any reference materials on engine and frame numbers please. I'm trying to understand whether the bike with the following number is an Alpino 500S and what year it was made. LAV500*2218  DGM16793.0M

Thanks

JLO's Laverdamania register suggests that it's a 1979 model - http://www.laverdamania.net/registre500.htm
