Laverda 750 SF model ID

The grunt from those engines comes from the small valve head in combination with the 4/S cam and the small carbs.
Makes these engines very pleasant.

Isn't the 4/S cam the hot one from the 750 SF0? Cam timing on those looks more akin to SFC than SF. Not the 'soft cam' Piet refers to as GT spec. The 4/S is no doubt what gave Ron's bike the raw grunt to lift the wheel going from 2nd to 3rd, no clutch no backing off  8)

4/S was first used in the "S" models.  I've fitted it to my GTL, works great with the heavy long-stroke. :D

SF1 had the 5/1 cam.
Had a 4/S in my SF2 for years, my preferred camshaft for road use, 5/C good 2nd.

Good to hear, Marnix. So the 4/S works well with std type mufflers? 5/Cs certainly don't.

I've always liked the idea of trying a 4/S. My more stock custom SF will probably have Conti Staintune copies, so i want a cam that will work with it.

I was more than happy with my 5/1 when my SF1 was stock, but Wolfgang calls the 5/1 the 'shaker cam'??!! My motor was very smooth, so not sure where that description came into it.

I bet they perform well with standard type silencers, but admit I used the 4/S with a silenced 2 into 1 SFC exhaust.
