Retro fit.

It's a german-registered bike therefore the speedo is a legal requirement. Retro-fitting the Smiths instrument is logical and straightforward.

Difficult finding the correct drive gears for it though, the Smiths were only ever (initially) fitted to drum-braked bikes that used gears of very different dimensions. But... the very first 1000 SFCs were fitted with Smiths leftovers, the drive gears for these fit both wire and cast disc-brake wheels. I have a few NOS sets of these gears to suit the 240km/h clock in stock.
