Lead replacement upper cylinder lubricant.

Since lead was removed from fuel in Aus. I have been using this, just in case.

Does anybody else use this? If I did a few hundred kms without it, would I be in trouble?

I want to see the difference in colour with my tailpipe and plugs.

Cheers.

I think few people use it, even if they have not had hardened valve seats fitted.
I don't use it and I have done 4000km weekend runs with no issues.

If it makes ya feel warm n fuzzy, keep tipping it in  ;) but if you miss a couple of tanks, only thing you will notice is you will have a few more bob in the fob :D

VP makes one of the best octane boosters, it also is a lead substitute, of course for off road use only, it's called Octanium, don't know if you guys can get it in OZ though.

You mean Octanium? I suspect it?s mostly acetone and expect we have something similar over here (probably the same stuff repackaged)..

I used Valve Guard in my Husky 4 stroke for every tank of fuel, but its got Titanium valves. The first year they had them there were major issues and mass recalls, that was fixed by using the good USA Del West Titaniums vales for my year's bikes but the local distributor still recommended using Valve Guard.

I posted this link some time ago re unleaded fuel in air cooled clunkers like ours.

I do not know of a single person who has had valve seat issues than can be attributed to unleaded fuel. Laverda twins and triples were imported to the lead free US with exactly the same valve seats as for every other market. Indeed I have never heard of anyone have valve seat problems in ANY other vehicle that can be attributed to unleaded fuel.

I use straight 95 Ron unleaded in all my vehicles execpt my Landrover 'Freeloader', "Oscar", coz he prefers diesel ;)
