Hi All

Any thoughts on best glue / bonding stuff for repairing a Bobba CF side panel knob detachment?

Sand area down till there is no gloss left. mat surface.  than the best thing is to source out epoxy resin, cotton flakes, and 160g/m2 glass cloth or 200g/m2 carbon cloth  ,...  after sanding apply thin coat of epoxy on surface place aluminium part on it's position and use epoxy mixed with cotton flakes must be so thick that it doesn't run apply around rough edges of aluminium  and than apply few layers of glass/carbon cloth over aluminium part.

I use Araldite to re-glue these knobs.
I roughen the back of the alloy knob with a Dremel to give a better key, and I overlap the Araldite over and around the top side of the flats on the knob

I'd go with the JB Weld, has held the side panel clips on the Crampton 4 the last 4 years. Araldite lasted about 2 months doing the same job. Roughen surfaces to be bonded before application and build up slightly over the aluminium pad.

I do it more or less as Luka described, but have never heard of using cotton flakes as reinforcing fibres.

I use about a 50mm square (or round) piece of fibreglass cloth with a hole cut in the middle large enough for the head of the knob to go through but not the bottom flange. With the glass tape epoxied over and around the flange, it'll never come off again.

Note: Easiest way to cut a small hole in fibreglass cloth is to fold it in quarters and snip the corner off with scissors.

You use cotton flakes to fill any sharp corners,  to avoid having air bubbles on sharp edges, holes,..

Here is one photo the white stuff is cotton flakes that are mixed with epoxy resin. I is basically filler for sharp edges.
