Just putting back together one of the forks on the RGS after changing a seal (blimey, there was some crap in there) and I can't get any real tightness on the allen screw that holds it all together, even when the spring is back in.

Am I missing something here?

Couple of ways round it, try a broom handle first, push hard on the top of the damper rod whilst nipping up the cap screw, or give it a tweak with an impact driver, or if you can get your allen key into the chuck of a cordless drill try whizing it up with that, only got to get it a little tight then it should fully nip up fine, if you don't it will leak.

Ah, hold slider in workmate, bash breaker bar with soft hammer, sorted.  Ta.  One down, one to go.
