Michelin Tyres

Andy it's strange you had the severe performance drop off with the Contis. A friend of mine has a set of the Classic Attacks mounted on one of those old BMW things which he rides the absolute crap out of. He has over 7,000 kilometers on them and says they're perfect. Who knows? I figure if I try a set of them on my own old clunker then that will take the mystery out. Plus tire testing is such drudgery... means I have to spend all weekend riding around aimlessly through the wilderness  :D.

Hi Tom , I know BMW's I had them for 35 years and they will do lots of miles on any tyre , I use avons on my R90s and I must admit they are realy good.
Conti attack ( go) is what I use and I have had to replace one that had only done 200miles because it looked ike it was delaminating but in actually fact it was air bubbles that had fromed when the tyre was made.
Ofcoarse conti deny this happens
Regards andy

Andy there is a world of difference between the "Go!" and the "Classic Attack". When a lot of the new Continentals popped up on the market I asked a friend of mine who is a Conti developement rider/test rabbit to get some deeper info on all of this stuff. He was told the Go!s are designed for smaller lighter bikes and not old heavy clunkers. There will always be an exception to the rule but for the most part all of the new generation of tires available now are still much better than what we had to choose from in the long and distant past.
