Monty chain guard fitting

Hi Folks
I have another annoying little problem and wondered if anyone else had encountered anything similar and if so had a solution. I have fitted Ikon shocks to the Monty and I have a fibreglass chain guard from Richard Slater the problem is that there is only around 6mm clearance between the shock and the chain, the sprocket bolt heads will also catch the guard. At the moment I can see no other way round this without cutting away the area I have shaded, a far from ideal situation, any ideas?
Thanks
Steve

Was there clearance with the previous shocks fitted?
Either refit them or cut it away until it fits with the Konis.

When I fitted the chainguard to POP with the monoshock modification I just cut it to fit around the monoshock bracing.
These guards are more cosmetic than functional, to satisfy the lawmakers and to try to keep chain muck off you.

Thanks for the info, the original guard had been broken only the front third was left so I guess there was a problem, I thought it?s always best to check before starting to cut things especially as its fibreglass
Thanks again
Steve

Either the guard is not right or the shocks aren't right when fitted to the bike.
Easier to change the guard than replace the shocks.

Chop away.

Take a view on whether you want to further reinforce the guard between back and front. I didn't. So far, so good (famous last words...)

Have some matt black paint handy to paint over the white fibreglass left by the cuts.
