Hi
I am in the process of putting my Mk1 Monty back together and I am in need of some info. When I bought the bike the seat was held on by just the two rear bolts, does anyone know how the front of the seat clamps down as the two front studs don't line up with anything or better still can anyone get a photo
Cheers
Steve

There is a small steel hook bolted to the front that hooks under the cross strap where your common earth is located.
Youv'e got to make sure the loom is secured out of the way to avoid catching it.
I fitted a couple of rubber frame bumpers to keep it central at the front and give it some support.
It's stripped down at the moment but I'll post some pics later today.

Thanks for the info I?ve got a strip of stainless ready to go, it?s starting to take shape, it looking like a proper bike at last :-)

seathook pics.

I fitted a couple of the wraparound frame rubbers further down the frame to improve comfort but to be honest you only really notice on the boring straight bits.
Also fitted a raised bridge with a bit of rubber on top between the rear mounts to take the load off the mounting bolts.
Stops the seat flexing so much and fretting the mounts over jumps.

Brilliant! Thanks for that, I?m fitting some rubber to the frame for protection at the front of the seat and that?s a good idea about taking the weight off the back.
Back to the garage it is
Thanks again
