Mudguard hitting middle downpipe (3CL)

I don't think using tape to fix the gussets on is a good idea...

I took that particular bike for a track day ride last Sunday and it worked OK.
The masking tape did eventually get replaced with weld metal. It's just that I was reluctant to show my "elephant snot" welds on here for the professional welders to hang shit on, but if you insist ...

Hey Cam, is that a slight bend I see in that upper frame tube?

Yes. The bike took a front end hit at some stage. It's been straightened, which is why it's rusty in that area (the paint was burnt off when the frame was heated to straighten it). The top tube is still has a slight "S" shape in it, which is part of the bend you can see, but the frame measures up OK. When I bought the frame it had no front end with it, so I assume that was damaged beyond repair. It now has BMW K75 forks and triple clamps.

With Cerianis fully extended 535mm from axel to lower bolt and at least 75mm from mudguard hoop to centre downpipe... 75mm is a long way
