music in the shed

Mud vocalist Les Gray was once spotted at a petrol station by some fans ........ He did the Tiger Feet dance for them while filling up his car ........
What a Star .... ! .....

I’m fairly certain it was a couple of the guys from Mud that used to turn up at a jamming/open mike night at a village hall south of Milton Keynes back in the 80’s.

Willie lives up to his name by getting the King`s daughter pregnant ........ King is little upset , as he was away , then returns to find his daughter up the duff ....... Threatens to have Willie hanged , but when they meet he actually likes Willie ( could have phrased that better , never mind ) ....... so Willie doesn`t get hanged after all , marries the daughter , and tells the King he can keep all the land and money , he only wants the girl ............

Scottish 18th century folk ballad .......... although Winsbury is in Shropshire , England ............ What was Willie doing up there ? ( As the King may well have asked .... ) ......

I really enjoyed watching these guys, the BBC produced 'The Alehouse Sessions' is he best and most polished video I think, sadly it isn't on YouTube but, I highly recommend it if you are able to access the BBC iPlayer, the session includes guest opera singer, the gorgeous Mary Bevan
I'll put a link to another Alehouse sessions video and one of Mary

I remember the Saturday gigs,...
I saw Mott the Hoople about 10 years ago, I was struck by the audience, the spotlight repeatedly revealed a sea of static grey and bald heads, all in black tee shirts and blue jeans, i've never felt so old at a gig.
Since then I've been accompanying my teenagers to their rock gigs, it's good for the soul and reassuring that rock is still very much alive and well.

Show this one to your kids/grandkids, they'll love it ;)

Featuring Hannah on vocals and her husband (with the hair) on guitar (they are part of Leo's touring band)

Immediately reminded me of Sandy Denny/Fairport Convention’s Farewell Farewell. Same music, different lyrics.

Then Curved Air will belong here as well, Sonja a standout, married to Stuart Copeland ( was the drummer in Curved Air ) as it is told. j

Your instrument in there Chris, the performer ( usually a Gal ) on Theorbo, giant stringed instrument, need your family to help play it, you on one end, them on the other, a smile here. j.
