Hi all,
I have gathered enough feedback from you across the forum and social feeds and want to start this thread in order to soft lock in some events that we can attend within a non ridiculous radius of where you live. In keeping with the spirit of Laverda's Italian heritage, I see us cutting the continent into 3 separate zones, delineated by the colors of the Italian flag.
West=Zona Verde
Central=Zona Bianca
East=Zona Rossa
With that concept in play, I have some thoughts for what to do in the east, thanks to Rick Lee. The DESMO club out there has several events this season, as seen here:
I think it would be great if you Zona Rossa peeps could get at least 5 of you to show at one of these. If you commit, I will too, and create some shirts and stickers and other stuff for you to fly your colors at the event.
For the Zona Verde, I have a good friend named Jason at 6Volt cycles in Bend, OR who supports a few scramble events in May and July, and of course we have our friends above the border who surround Wolfgang and Chris. Depending on the dates, there could be a chance for us to hook up in Bend and ride up to Naksup. But we need to get that figured out soon, this is a bigger idea and I will support it if we can commit more than 5 folks to muck in.
And finally, the Zona Bianca, where I hail from. I'm a big fan of Arkansas, have some locals who can help me out, and we could get into that area later in the year, cuz its hot. If some of you in Texas want to start thinking this over, maybe the hill country gets the nod. Either way, I have no plan for this area. And our friend WAY up there in Manitoba is probably thinking of giving me the finger.
Overall, there is no perfect fit for all. But, I offer this up to start a conversation, hoping that you who really want to develop and support the idea of a NALOC this year will lean into the idea and help me get something started within your area. Keep the ideas coming here, and we can create new threads for each =zone in the future. Thanks for your support.
