neutral light switch

My neutral light switch has developed a leak. I have been told that they are not available any more and that I could just epoxie the thing and get it to work.
I tried epoxie and the one I tried did not did not work. Next I am trying super glue.
Does any one know where I might locate a neutral light switch ( for a 1982 Mirage) or would anyone know how to get my existing one not to leak?
Thanks, Myke

Ralph Allen at Motila has the last new one in stock. :D
serious, he does still have new ones and sells them on fleabay

Story is years ago he bought all the remaining stock, none of the other dealers have been able to source them since.
Been looking at adapting some other type to the hole, is possible, just need time to do it.

make sure you get a couple of the neutral switch shims, the silly switch isn't a perfect fit into the recess and has to be shimmed. I also use some non hardening gasket sealer just to prevent any oil drips.

when the neutral light switch wears out it isn't leaking from around the switch, it is leaking right through the switch internal shaft.

I bought a couple of neutral switches from Motalia, as well as quite a bit of specialty stainless steel bits, I was happy with the service and quick shipping.

Thanks for all the help. Yes I know it is leaking through the switch. That is the area I have tried to epoxie. I am also aware of the need for shims. I have been down this path before.
I guess the best thing to do is buy several back up now while I still can.
I think next time a leak developes I will just wait it out until it gets really bad.

again thanks for the info.

No need to get in a rush, Ralph has roughly 2.000 of them in stock...

make sure you switch through the gears with the engine NOT running when you installed the switch. If you mount it to deep, it does block shifting and it needs to be shimmed. If you mount it not deep enough, it does not work.

the other thing I thought about doing when my last neutral light switch was leaking was just removing the switch and plugging the hole with a suitable sized short bolt, who looks at the neutral light anyway...... but I did break done and buy a replacement switch and a couple more for spares.. Removing the switch and plugging the hole could work as a stopgap leak stopper while waiting for a new switch to arrive, just a thought.

Yes, I also thought about just putting a bolt in there. However, I find the light very helpful.
Lothar, you are right about checking all the gears. Expierance taught me that the first time I changed one.
I ordered 3 just in case and they have been shipped. With extra shims.
I find myself buying a surplus of almost everthing there days...just in case. I am sure this is an illness.
