OK, so I've got power to everything.  Move the cutout on the crank rotor to the firing position, set Witt to '0' and switch on ignition.  Nowt, nothing nada.

Then after about 10 seconds or so, off she goes. Switch off and back on and off it goes again, sparking at about 3500 RPM.  Leave for a few minutes, try again and same thing, ten seconds (without touching the bike) and it starts firing.

Check all connections, wiggle wires etc etc.  but the same thing- if the bike is switched off for any length of time it won't fire immediately, but if I switch it off and on immediately it fires.  Switches are good, I'm confused.  Is my ignition about to blow?

Thought position 0 was "test mode" - try position 1?

But I don't know much.....

H.

Position 0 is supposed to be the test mode- just fires constantly at 3500 revs or so.

It was!  All back together again and ready to rock and roll. :D

Good man Reggie pleased you've got it sorted...........When a had my RGA Jota Sprint the Witt ignition was playing-up something terrible, engine was coughing/spluttering/cutting out and generally farting about. The problem was traced to the rectifier/regulator on the blink which didn't offend the original ignition system and was working adequately to keep the battery charged but the Witt wouldn't have anything to do with it. Got it replaced...........all was well. Perhaps worth checking if anybody's Witt plays up ?.

                                                            Regards to all................Ed.

Reggie,
What you really need is a spare one like the E-bay one in Dalkeith, as long as you only take one home at a time whose to know.

Meh, just a tricky wee number- duff kill switch, failing ignition switch and then low voltage (must check charging) sending me all over the place.  Oh well, sorted now, and I've learned a little more about the bike.

I wondered if you meant low or high Voltage. The Ignitech unit plays up when the voltage gets to around 8, it still runs just but you have to keep the revs up. I also had a charging problem, in Austria of all places.. Of course it could be the coils that dont like low voltages ?

I dunno- I'm not entirely sure why the battery needed charging really, something I'm going to have to keep an eye on.  It's showing 13.85V with the engine running, about right I would have thought.
