oil cooler weep

Hi all, I have a slight oil leak/weep from the standard oil pipe connection at the cooler leg. The olive is held in position as it has grooved the pipe due to being tightened as it should do but isn't held tight on the pipe as i can spin it. So was thinking of using a loctite to try and seal gap between olive and pipe if possible but the more i look at what's available the more confused 😖 i get. Any other folk come across this problem and hatch repair.
Regards Alan

I cut the old olives off (very carefully) and fit new nuts and olives when I restore a bike.
You can bodge a repair if you want, or do it properly.

With nut pushed hard against body of cooler olive isn't fully exposed. Didn't think a new olive could would tighten down and reseal the already crimped area again, but if that works will have see if can get the olive off. That's why I posted for ideas, many thanks.

I usually end up cutting the nut off to expose enough of the olive to be able to cleanly cut it with a Dremel. Very tricky but possible.
The alloy tube is very easy to cut...

I have done similar to Grant, initially with a fine grinder and then with Swiss files - took ages as I was very careful NOT to touch the cooler tube.
I cut both sides of the olive to aid removal.

The Loctite product you require to seal hydraulic fittings is Loctite 577 thread sealant.
Works first time, every time if you get rid of the oil first.
This stuff is fantastic!!!!!!

Have just been handed that by a contractor here who uses it on aircon pipe work.

Obviously a man of taste!

I struggled for years with small weeps on various systems before hitting the jackpot with this stuff.
I use it on the Laverda engine sump plug, with the added bonus it acts like a quasi threadlocker as well.
