Oil weeping from where?

there does look to have been some welding/grinding/refinishing of the frame bracket, perhaps that was done in situ, perhaps the stud was removed and on re-install the thread was greased (no idea why) and then the engine heat has melted the grease, causing the leak.....LEAK???? I wouldn't call that a leak? its more like a dust preventer!

OK, I've checked and now have them before me, the lower mounting studs are M12x1,25 at both ends.  The thread depth in the case is larger than normally deemed necessary in order to attain a similar strength a coarse thread would offer.

Thanks for the update information Piet,...............further tests using proper developer spray seem to give the same results as with the talcum powder,the weep/stain seems to be visually reducing so it will be checked again when the engine is run and up to temperature.

He is awaiting parts before this can be done,.......then its a case of either fix,ignore or forget  :D
