Outer gear case removal

Hi all
I am new to the forum and Laverda ownership I very recently bought a 180 jota.
I would appreciate any help either to be pointed in the right direction or written help with regards to the removal of the gear outer case to get to the engine sprocket.
Does it come off in one piece!

I'd recommend this book or/and a copy of the factory manual which is often available from the Motalia website.
