Paint code

I know this subject has been flogged before but when I look at the colour of my tank and try to match it to any known Laverda paint codes ...... well nothing seems to match. This is a teal blue ....... meanining it has some green in it...... and so far I cannot find a Laverda match. Just wondering if anyone knows the proper codes ...... I'll get it done one way or another ...... just wanted to know if there was a proper factory code.

I should add that a previous owner had tried to touch up the paint with a very poor match.

Most decent paint shops will have a (non destructive) paint analyser and would be able to match the paint to any section you're happy with. They would probably cut & polish the section to ensure a true match to the original colour.

Oddly enough, I recently stripped bodywork of that exact same colour to paint in a darker shade..

In my opinion chasing the original paint codes may not offer what you want, as the density in todays paints is nothing like the paint of the 1970s I attempted this exercise and ended up with something completly different to my expectation , as mentioned earlier it is far easier to identify color on your existing bodywork, generally the underside of the tank will offer something unfaded that will be very close, take it to a good paint shop and they will color match it for you.
I am lucky as I have a contact that has precision eyes and can match better than any computer copied image.
I have never seen that color on a Laverda but I do like it.

That is my plan ...... I have a choice of two painters who match paint colours extremely well. The underside of the tank looks reasonably well and I know one of them usually polishes a patch of the original paint to get a match.

I know it is an uncommon colour but I will keep it original ...... the backside of the sidecovers shows that the plastic is also that same teal blue with a hint of green in it ....... I think with new paint it will look fantastic.

I'd go with that guy then as he is on the ticket and then you would be assured that you will get the closest match as possible...  but as Maurice says had to get an exact match with modern paints ... I like that colour it looks good... I painted one of my 3CL's a similar colour... went to the paint shop and got him to "mix"up a colour for me.. ended up with shit loads of straight blue tinter in it as I remember he kept saying are you sure you want more tinter in this... I kept saying yep.

Thanks Brett. I will see one of the painters tomorrow. I reckon his comments will either convince me or defer me ..... I am expecting a happy outcome (no Thai girls involved) ....... I want this colour and I want to ride the bike. I go away for work .... maybe 3-4 weeks so when I come home I want a tank ready to drop on and ride!

I am thinking that is the one although mine seems to have a lot of green in it as well. I'm trying to get the colour codes translated into something useable here in Canada.

If I can't find it or get someone to match it then maybe I'll have to start a poll for a new colour ......

If yours seems to have more green tone, then it could be RAL 6005, Moss Green.
Having said that, your pics show more blue than is apparent in most of the RAL 6005 samples on the web.

Definitiely not moss green ......... sent the photo's to Wolfgang and he doesn't recognize the colour. The paint does seem to be original when I look at the base of the tank. Maybe the Ral 5024 Pastellblau Lechler ..... but no metallic in mine.

This thread seemed to find the colour .... but no code mentioned. I guess I'll be sending off a PM to Scuderia .....

To me the photo I posted is a very similar shade to the faded one you posted.
Plus the angle of the tank in the pic I posted has a lot of reflection so it's difficult to see clearly.
Ty cutting back the faded paint on a part of your bodywork and polishing it up. This will give you a better feel for how it compares.
