Paioli schock

I have a Paioli monoschock on the back of my race bike. It's off a Zane machine and just fits straight in.
It's obviously adjustable for rebound and compression but which is which? There's a knob at the base of the shock rod and another on the remote reservoir.
I suspect the one on the rod is for compression and the one on the reservoir for rebound?

I think that once the bike is run in and used in anger, that shock may be too stiff anyhow since the bike probably weighs less than 120 kg.
We'll see.

The knob is for the rebound damping. The knob on the remote reservoir should be for the compression damping. On most shocks (Wilbers, ?hlins, etc...) the compression damping adjustment is located somewhere on the shock body itself.
