Primary Chain Slipper

Guys,

I just bought a primary chain slipper as a spare for my Jota. It strikes me that an item that is being worn down by the primary chain is a good item to have a spare for.

My question is this :- Is it possible to have the " wear" medium refurbished to as new...?

cheers

The Laverda "slipper" is a poor design to begin with. If by wear you mean the slipper has grooves, then is a good thing as the chain will be running in the grooves and not just contact wear on the plates. I would use some packing under the slipper to get the right tension but leave the grooves there.

The rubber facing hardens and breaks up with age, Wolfgang is having them re-faced and they are available as a new/exchange part.

That's groovy Andy  ;)

Wolfgang AND OCT in Germany both refacing them? I hope they are collaborating and only getting the best treatment, from the same source, Laverda dealers have (historically) collaborated very well, I hope that continues, it benefits us all.Nothing worse than good repro stuff and not so good repro stuff espcially when they are they same item.
