Rearsets for RGS?

RGS-Ned

Hello, I'm sure some of you must have seen some really nice looking, Italian made rearset foot rests being advertised regularly on Ebay. Can anyone tell me whether they can be fitted to my RGS. I've always thought the original rubber footrests look naff, and would love to fit Knurled "Jota styley" ones.

Thankyou, Ned.

Ned, you may have noticed the RGS series have the footrests mounted on circular plates that provide for adjustment.  You can have your rearsets -- OEM!  The rubber covers may not appeal to your artistic sense, but given the vibes on those bikes, I think your feet will be happier with the rubber 'uns.  ;)

I think they don't fit, as the RGS - just like the SFC1000 - has two single little "tubes" where the rearset-plate is mounted to. You would have to measure the distance of these and try to find some modern footrest hangers that have the same or make some adapter plates...

I'm always suffering for my art! I'm a sculptor in my spare time. Here's one I made earlier.

Nice, really... must have been fun to work on... you should design some nice bodyparts for bikes.

Oh - and just found the model you used to make a "copy" of:

The net never forgets...  :D

you got a lot of fckn time on your hands Lothar  :P Get out in the garage where you belong

You sure thats not one of Levos brothers girlfriends

:LOL:Thanks for that, No, It's not my wife or daughter, It's supposed to be Kylie. Maybe she's easier to recognise from this angle. The material she's made from is called "Chavant" I hoped she would be cast in Bronze and end up in London. But I couldn't get anyone interested in the idea. I've made a mould from her, but this model no longer exists.
My troublesom Rgs is still not on the road as the brakes are binding. a calliper strip down on the cards, this time using the proper "red" grease, while waiting for the bloody rain to stop ::)

Blimy that looks like a lot of work Phil, and way beyond what I can do. I want to keep the original look, with the rotating plates, but change the foot rests and levers. I have a mate who's a tool maker I'll see if he can make me some thing.
The Kylie statue was made after watching her "Spinning around" video probably more times than is healthy :-[
