Remove PHF Float pin

Hi all
I decided to overhaul and clean the carbs on my Mirage.
I can't see how to remove the float pin (photo below) and thought I'd ask advice as the whole mechanism is very delicate.
Any help gratefully received.

Needle nose pliers often do not have enough purchase on the pin, I use a fine side cutter and use the pillar as a support to lever the pin out, never fails.

If the pin has never been removed, it can prove to be quite stubborn.  Pulling with pliers can cause them to slip off.  Three slips later, there's nothing left to grip...

I use surgical clamps accumulated during years of hospital work.

Come over with your carbs. I'll pull the pins out for you and I can also cut off anything you deem superfluous.

The supports need supporting if you put any sideways force on them. I made a support and use a new pin as a drift.
Safe way and cheaper than a new car.

And for the next guy to enter into her nether regions...

Don't whack em in hard. They are held in general situ by the float bowl, so a moderate seating is all they need.

like Piet I always use a pair of side cutters, but I grip the pin with the cutters and then tap the cutter with a toffee hammer to drift it sideways.
