Removing shoes from backing plate...

Just pulled the shoes to send out to be re-lined pita, worried I was going to brake something the whole time.
Anyone got tricks on removing the springs?
Laverda rear drum wasn't so bad but the Grimeca 4LS front was a bugger.
Hoping there's and easier way than pliers, screwdrivers and force..

dont take the springs off the shoes, take the shoes off the backplate with the springs still atatched, and to replace, fit springs to shoes then refit to back plate, you might need a grip (moles) to increase your finger pressure in order to stertch the shoes over various bits to get them back in place.
