Replacement Dial Faces for ND Clocks

Anyone got any experience of the replacement dial faces offered by clocksndials.co.uk ?  Seller occasionally offers them on E bay too but I seem to think the photos they show for the Laverda rev counter have an oil logo (as per Honda CB750) rather than a gen logo on the warning light on the left of the clock ( Yes I am wearing my anorak here....)

Any thoughts ?

Oddly enough I have ordered a set this week for my SF, so should hopefully arrive soon and i,ll take some photo's, but I am sure on his web site www.clocksndials.co.uk it shows the GEN light. Hope so now I've coughed up for some.

Well, the GEN light doesn't work on Laverdas anyway (not wired in) so it doesn't really matter what the label says.
Maybe you could wire in an oil pressure, level or temperature switch and use it as an oil light anyway.

Then again, perhaps an oil light is not such a good idea. My Kawasaki has an oil light that's driven by two switches - pressure and sump level. It'll come on when either the pressure or sump level are low. Occasionaly the level sensor sticks and the light comes on (not sure how it works, maybe a float switch?). It nearly gives me a heart attack when it does that. I think the engine is about to explode.  :o

The problem now is that I'm used to it telling lies. So if it does come on for real one day, I'll probably ignore it, keep riding and demolish the engine.

Cheers,
Cam

It does on the 750s, Cam.  Al has a SF..... ;)

Oil pressure is quite low, doesn't really need monitoring.  Oil level would be useful for some, though!! :D

Cam,
Just one of these things us OCD sufferers spot  :-[ You are of course right - it makes feck all difference whether the rev counter warning light says oil or gen ....
I just wonder where and what I should connect it to  :)

Don't..... the factory didn't!  Not on the triples, at least.

You would most probably need a regulator/rectifier with a charge indicator output lead, been covered on LP before.  Not much oil pressure to measure, you'll need a guage that tops out at about 1.5bar/20psi.  Pressure drops really low when the oil's hot.  More important to be sure there's enough oil circulating.
