Hello all

New to forum, so be gentle!!

Only need a M16 x 1,25 bolt.

If all else fails, you can use the front axle!

Please be aware that some 120? engines have a LH threaded bolt securing the flywheel to the crank.  These have a plain, machined head.  RH threaded bolts have some sort of script on them.

HTH,

Quick or what???

Thanks for the replies. & thanks for the LH thread warning.

I looked at the puller picture in the manual & it looks like it uses the outer thread on the flywheel, didn't think to look at the centre. Doh!!!

RGS flywheel does not have an external thread, does your picture perhaps depict an earlier 180? Bosch flywheel?

I hesitate to pit myself against the font of pretty much all Laverda knowledge, but yes they do.
At least my RGA does, as does the Corsa.  Both bikes in the 2500+ range, so maybe the earlier bikes lacked it?

Yes Steve, must be senility setting in.

Had the flywheel in front of me... looked at the wrong side! ::) :-[

They're all the same, no changes over the years.

ps where in Aberdeenshire are you?
I have a 180 series 1 puller

Smiddy,

They can be pretty tight, make your puller's centre bolt a pretty decent size and a fine thread if possible.  I think I started out with M10 or 12 which stripped, then opened it up to a 5/8 UNF which has worked fine for years.
Also, they can really jump off the taper when they crack.  Just undo the crank bolt a few mm and push on that - then your alternator and starter clutch can't fly off onto the floor!

Cheers

DJA - read the whole thread... :-)
