Dear experts :)  .... first question of many...

My RGS temp gauge does not work at all. How would you tackle it?

Thanks in advance, Andrew

How far you driven it Andrew? They take a while to move as the sender is under the gearbox and it is cold out, bloody basstard cold, just back from a 200 mile ride to deliver my Dad's birthday present. brrr.

Maybe, having read some past techical threads on the same subject, I should add..

"How long does it take to show any reading in November on a cold day, riding slowly?"

???

Maybe 5 miles was not enough?   (Only had it 2 days)

Hi Keith,  Our posts crossed... Yes...you are probably right!  I was thinking of water temp gauges .. an oil temp gauge on a large air cooled engine in November.. I'll be taking the RGS out at the weekend and will report back  :)

I guess you've checked that the guage actually works by running power direct - disconnect the sender wire and put it on the +ve terminal- should shoot up to hot.

Hi Andrew, my former RGS and my current SFC1000 takes both about 15km or 20 minutes to see any movement in the needle.  Then rising 'till 75 degrees Celcius, when you drive about 130km/hr on the highway. So be patient for the old lady ;-)
