SF front wheel spindle diameter

Can anyone tell me the SF front wheel spindle diameters where it goes through the forks ?

It's 22mm and 17mm - the drum brake ones are 22/17 the disc are 22/20/17mm - the 20mm being for the area between the fork legs on disc brake models. - Regards - Phil

Wait a minute ...

I have a pair of NOS Ceriani 38mm disc brake sliders here with 22mm and 20mm holes.

They must be for a different bike. Definitely Ceriani though.

I'm in the process of fitting a Beemer /5 twin leader into a G80CS!  Fits quite well, looks period and isn't too much hassle... if you can find a decent one, that is.  Just hope the spindly forks will stand up to it. :

Hi Piet,

I fitted a /6 to my last G80CS. 17mm spindle was perfect.

Sounds like the Laverda spindle is too wide for Matchless forks. The only other forks I have at the moment are Ceriani 38mm which are on my GT to make a rolling chassis.
