Try Wolfgang. He at least has replicas if none of the originals left.

fits just like the old brits, little brack from the left rear footpeg (inside) try richard slater or the ducati lads as they used the same front brake switch on early 70's models.

Is there no switch on the rear brake?

Yes there is, about 1.5" long (Simple Pull Switch) to operate the Brake Light attached to a Spring and that Spring is the exact same Spring used in the BREV Drum Brakes and the Side Stand - Can't recall if it's used for the Center Stand.

If you look hard enough you will see the original Switch and Spring mounted in the correct location in this PIC:

The rear-sets are my fabrication.

In this relaxed position the Brake Light circuit is open and the light is OUT- When the rear brake is applied and the bell crank swings forward the switch closes the circuit and the brake light comes on.

The left front brake Lucas switch is threaded into the boss of the brake lever for adjustment length and often breaks the plunger short meaning you have to shorten the outer cylinder in order to lengthen the plunger.

Both switches ground the tail light to complete circuit to light the tail light bulb.

If you're ingenious, handy with a soldering iron and heat shrink you can usually manage to make these switches work but if they are beyond repair I am sure Wolfgang has these parts ;o)

I used pressure switch on my rear, my front is microswitch (cause it's not original) I like the pressure switches, save buggering around with springs and shit.

Tippie it's quite simple. Place the brake swith in your butt. When the moment comes when you really, really, REALLY need to brake the brake light should come on.

Tom

the  switch sits inbetween the cable and handle bar and when you pull the lever it opens very technical that bit, but its covered under the term pressure switch granted very early iron age but still does a job.

Can't stop laughing at that one Tom.

By the way, can you post a PIC of your brake pressure switch installation - )o( - LOL!

How did you get a pressure switch to work on the cable operated drum brake Chris?
