SF1 headlamp looks wrong?

...or rather the brackets do....
The headlamp is tight up against the slot and can't go back any further. Is that right?

The fixings look right old mish-mash, the teeth on the alloy bit don't match those on the lamp and the alloy spacer has teeth on both sides when the bracket is smooth inside.  Is that right?

and finally, the only place I can seem to route the clutch cable is quite a tight bend under the clock bracket.  Is that right?
(admittedly it could be because the clutch lever clamp is pushed far towards the centre so tthe grabs the end of the lever more, by heck it's heavy, silly heavy!)

Thanks

...oh...I can't embed images any more, sorry chaps, will have to post the URLs

Olly,

On a more helpful note....you just need to wrap your picture direct links using the image button (third from the left, above the smileys) and voila - you have pictures  ;). Can't help with the headlamp, but it doesn't look right...

Will take some picture of my SF1 tonight and post - not that I am saying mine is fitted correctly, the headlamp shell is cracked from what looks like over-tightening, but good to compare. Have got a nice shiny headlamp shell from Wolfgang waiting to be fitted (or might do that as part of a more major overhaul).

I know everybody hates posts without photos.

Thanks, mines cracked too, IMHO the headlamp on the SF1 is such a key part of the look that I think it's worth me replacing mine too, what did that set you back if you don't mind me asking?

Is that an original Laverda kitten? I'm sure the originals were slightly less fluffy

Not much help for the OP here....

The spacers definitely look wrong to me if the headlight is the right one, the teeth should match up. I wouldn't know if it's the right headlight never having had one of those.

I agree, the CEV headlight is a good looking piece of kit and (along with Lucas switches and the big drums) defines the SF1.

Shell cost $195 from Wolfgang and is nice and shiny. Will include a photo tonight.

Olly,

I just wonder if it is the brackets that you are using - these look the same as the one's on my SF2 with a 160mm Bosch headlight.  Could it be that the CEV units used different brackets to the Bosch?

Perhaps someone with greater knowledge of this might comment.

Not sure it should have those alloy spacers.
Rubber mounting as per SF2/3 would seem more like it.

Your clutch cable should adopt a wider radius curve by passing in front of instruments.

Here is a (pretty poor) photo of my setup. The spacers are alloy.

Also a pic of the new housing from Wolfgang, this comes with rubber spacers which I will probably fit when I mount it.

Hey Chris,

Have you got a photo of how your clutch cable routes behind headlight on your SF1 with the Brevettato bars - fitted the bars to my SF2 and the clutch cable takes the most horrendous tight turn from clutch lever that just looks plain wrong to me.

Yogi - see attached. It goes through and under the tank on the opposite side. My clutch actions seems pretty good so the routing must be okish. Also a better picture of the headlamp bracket for olly.
