Guys
Brake light pressure switch not working. I assume they're not repairable.
Are they a part common to something else (bmw, mercedes...?) Or do I need to order from overseas

Thanks
Andre

Do believe the brake pessure switches fitted to an SFC 1000 are the same as those fitted to RGS', not a specific Laverda part but common to Brembo systems. Should be easily available from anybody who deals in Italian bikes. Not repairable (at least I dont think so) replace with a new item for peace of mind. HTH

Andre mine failed last year too so I went to an Auto Electrical/car parts place in Whangarei - Bindons, and showed the guy behind the counter what I needed and he came up with one - from what vehicle I don't know though, sorry. Worth a try somewhere else if you get a decent parts guy with half a clue.
Cheers,
Keith.

As Keith says, brake parts suppliers should be able to sell you a switch over the counter.

A bunch of Volkswagen models use a pressure switch with M10 x 1.00 thread.
Audi, Porsche, and probably a heap of other European cars use the same thread too.
Japanese vehicles use metric, either 1.00mm (fine) or 1.25mm (coarse) pitch. Toyota uses M10 x 1.00.
Forget about American and British cars - they tend to use inch sizes (BSP, UNF, NPT etc).

Here's an interesting one I've not seen before. It fits under a banjo bolt.  http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/281134367792?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
