Started up the race bike since at first start up is was popping and spitting flammes through the exhaust. Suspected an air leak so had tightened exhaust into head. It's a lot better but still popping and spitting.
Anything else to look out for apart from an air leak?

Gainsbourg and Bardot in the above video are lovely.

Thanks Andy,
Apart from changing the coils, nothing.
It pops over 4000 on overun.
Drained the carbs before stocking it over winter.
May need to check that way.

Paul, there might some sparks missing. With hindsight to your total loss system: Battery charge ok.?  Personally I'd stay of the carbies until not 100% sure that the ignition is working properly.
Double-check the wiring of your new coils. Based on the history I would even put back on the original coils exactly as they have been wired in before. If the bike is still farting you might consider using a strobo lamp usually applied for check of ingition timing, but also nice for detecting missing sparks.
