That was at Stafford classic bike show. The bidders know what it is, they just didn't want it on the day. No demand.
Well - How many of the "investors & Collectors" want a Laverda... Not many... and if, it would be MAYBE a 750 SFC... All the rest, you have to be VERY lucky to have more than 2 people interested in the bike...
An auction may work for "hipe" bikes like the Ducati 750 green frame etc., but at the end, it is one day, the right buyer has to be there with deep enough pockets and enough other people interested have to be there wanting the bike. THEN, and only then, you could (!!) be lucky selling a Laverda at a high price.
I prefer to give things time and let people reconsider. I sold a 1000 SFC 6 or 7 years ago to a guy after advertising it for 3 or 4 months. It actually snapped on him when I posted new pics (bike at SPA Francorchamps)... He did not even discuss the price, he just had to have it.
We do not have bikes that masses of people are interested in outside the Laverda Community. Sold my Formula to a guy that had already several, the 1000 SFC still available with the only enquiries coming from other Laverda owners. I think I am asking a fair price and am happy to discuss with seriously interested people, but I won't sell it at such low levels. As someone once stated to me: "For such low price, i would put a light pulb on it and hang it under the sealing."
For 19.995 Pounds though, you would get more than just the bike from me... (loads of spare parts...)
Just my two cents...
