Steering damper

Hi, my bike came with ? steering damper, ? very crappy one. So who is using what on ? triple. No tank slappers when removing THE thing?

I can't imagine that I would ever need one on my Jota 120. If anything the steering is ever so slightly stiffer than most without any damping. Very stable indeed.

if you need a steering damper on the Triple Laverda, there is something wrong with your front-end, be it overtightened, damaged or to loose head stock bearing, wrong air pressure in the tire, a bend rim or brake disk or wrong setup of the fork. Or you lifted the back way to much.

I only ever had a wobbling front one time on the Jota. was cured by setting up the front correctly. Can lift my hands off the bars without issues now at any speed where this normally happens (80Km/h plus/minus 10Km/h).

I seem to remember "PK" Davies fitted two dampers to one of his proddy racing Jotas - but then he was riding a tad harder than anyone else.  Fitted a damper to my racing 1200 Saxon/Motodd as i just prefer the more controlled feel when hitting bumps whilst cranked over - it was the standard "Kawasaki" type damper - regards - Phil

I have sent my Jota to Wilbers factory to set suspension corect race track, they did excelent job and instaled stering demper . I see it more as nice to see on the  bike , there is no need for one in real world .

Only ever felt the need for one whilst riding on the road a few times, took it more as a sign to maybe slow down a bit not that the bike needed a damper  ;)
Used to get a weave at very high speed on my old 3c but discovered that tucking right in out the wind cured it, the weave was induced aerodynamicaly by the bufeting of my shoulders tuck in and hang tight and they are pretty stable, not arrow like as an RGS but not bad or dangerous. I do find the gangly Marzo forked bikes can be a bit wayward when pressing on.
