Storing Speedos and Rev Counters

Bought some parts from a nice bloke yesterday and it turns out he used to repair all the damaged clocks for Slaters at one time.
He told me never to store the clocks upside down ie glass facing down. I'd never even thought about it but when I got home I checked mine....yep all facing down.
Apparently the damping fluid leaks out if you do this, makes sense if you think about doh!

You can see darker stain on the face of this NOS rev counter. Clearly result of laying upside down. Will need to open it and clean it before using it..

No problem with Smiths clocks.

One of the ones I found upside down is a nos speedo, I'll have to check it out properly.
