I voted, as some of these are really good, but for me, the best special of all is Paul Berg's RGA 1000 with the Sprint fairing: dual headlights, long & low, standard silencers, endurance racing orange and in fine nick. I want one just like that when I grow up.

You see anything with dual headlamps and a Sprint fairing is the business :D :D :D

for Henry.

Summer?? But it's winter, I know because I actually had to put a windcheater on the other day when the temperature plummeted below 20C........

Great pics.

6C in Sydney this morning, did a 250k ride today and it was cold, maybe not Alpine Rally cold but cold enough for me.
I used one of those throat sock things under the helmet, worked very well

Guys I see that 9 people have voted but only 19 votes out of a possible 27 have been cast.

You have 3 votes this time.

Scrumpy

How do I cast my other two votes??

Henry

I marked the boxes of 3 different bikes at the same time then pressed vote.
Not sure if it lets you vote for the same bike 3 times.
Very confusing Scrumpy...

Henry/Grant,
You only get one attempt at voting so you must use all 3 at the same time. It is therefore not possible to vote for the same bike more than once.

#11 is an early haider last seen in florida
#7 is also a haider

.... the #7 Haider 1200 is for sale in Germany now. The #11 Haider 1200 is still in Florida. It is an early one, but it was modified for AHMRA-Races, with wire wheels from a 3C and half-fairing. For original condition see the attached pix.

Ciao, Gert

Whilst browsing the net I came across a picture of the Haider (option 11) and this accompanying text:

From the factory in breganze.the unique underseat tank design secured perfect handling and look how close yamahas deltabox design is which came a few years later. the target was a competitive racebike for the bears class. this is the prototype. 4 racebikes followed.raced by j.haider and w.pruenner. haider died in 1993 with blood cancer. the engine is a modified 1973 cl motor with a 180 deg crank. it uses original laverda hkz ignition. this bike comes with 2 sets of caburators: 40mm dellortos and 40mm mikuni the original 2.15x18 high shoulder borani rims are used front and rear. brakes are double castiron-discs with goldbrembo front, laverda-drumbrake rear.frontfork is a modified 36mm mazzocci, rear are double shock bitubo`s.

Some of those bikes look familiar!

Fack Tony!
Now I can't get her accent out of my head.
Can't remember any of her poems, but the voice haunts.
I voted for that bike too, now I will think of her each time I see it.

Ta much!!!

Option 5 - the Rau features in this months (July) Classic Bike Guide (UK) magasine.

Scrumpy

Scrumpy,

Any mention of who did the engine work for the Rau?

We at OCT were quite pissed off, to say the least, after the bike featured in a classic mag over here.  Roger and I spent hours and hours on the engine, all for just a symbolic sum for Rene, the owner, and not the slightest mention...... :headbang:

piet

Piet,
The article states that "Rene overhauled and tuned the engine fitting 41mm inlet valves and 38mm exhaust valves and with Asso pistons, the capacity went out to 1118cc. Compression ratio was raised to 10.5:1 and together with Dell Orto PH36 carbs the triple now delivers 95bhp......Mentions lightened crank saving 3KG.
I am afraid to say that you receive no credit for the work that you have put in.

Scrumpy

Piet,
Did you engrave the primary chain casing with "RT"? Engine looks extremely clean.
