Tacho questions

Q1: Will a 1000 tacho work correctly on a 750 motor?

Q2: Inside the gauge, there are two supports, one at 12 and one at 6 o'clock that are spot welded to the inside of the main frame.
They don't seem to do anything, can they be removed? And why are they there?

OK, I'm a dick. Now that I've looked properly: They are there as a light diffuser and they are riveted, not spot welded.

why don't you install an electronic tacho on the race bike, will give you an extra function like recording peak revs and can get one with a big fuck off in your face shift light
you have the Sachse box on that 270 degree ignition set up and it comes with a Tacho feed, use it
