Hi St?phane,

Haven't yet taken one totally apart, but the bezel screws off and the innards can then be extracted.

Want to convert it for Laverda?  AfaIk, they were not available in 3:1 ratio, only 4 or 5:1.  I got around that by altering the spring tension a little to get it to show exactly 6000rpm when spun at 2000rpm by my lathe.  Not sure if spring tension needs to be increased or decreased, but easy enough, the end of the spring is just clamped in a little bracket thing, can be moved easily enough.

Thought 6000 would be a good figure to have an accurate tach for, not much over that these days, and below is sort of irrelevant... :D

HTH,

Yes it can be extracted..
Seems that the clockwork is glued to the casing (?)

No conversion to 3:1 ratio but a dial face swap.

Thanks

If you want to use it on a 500, you'll need the drive fitted on the camshaft from a Formula.

The black ring that holds the glass can be unscrewed if you want access to the dialface and needle.

Thanks Hans

Counter is used on my 750 twin.

Bezel already unscrewed (see pic above).

Not sure how to remove the needle .......

Prise it upwards without sideways force on the shaft, should just pop off.  A pair of small angled levers (teaspoons :D) supported by the dial fixing screws will do the trick.
