Voxbell horns

As posted in another thread, I mounted brand-new Voxbell horns which I got from Wolfgang and they are both not working. You can hear them click, but that's it soundwise. I have had that happen on used horns, but I was surprised to see it on a new pair. Any solutions/thoughts on that?

Disconnect one horn and see if the other works. If that is the case, you're not getting enough current to the horns, probably due to an insufficient aftermarket ignition switch or simply deteriorated wiring. Repeat with the second horn. If both work individually, wire them through a relay.

If they refuse to work on the bike, test each by wiring directly to a healthy battery. If you're still not lucky, tweak the adjuster screw a bit, they usually start sweaking then.

Check you haven't been supplied 6V versions by mistake. They are visually identical apart from the part number and '6V' stamping.

I highly recommend FIAM Horns (Breganzies came with them). Modern Fiams are not available as in the older Oval face but rather Rectangular Faced to day.

Fiams (Very reasonably priced Horn) last forever if you flush the road dirt out of them every now and then and spray them right into the cones with something like Red Rust Check. Really "LOUD" and the Hi-Voltage side of the Horne Relay should use from a 15 Amp to a 30 AMP Fuse - If not you do not have enough Horn

Take it from a Canadian Northern Ontario Breganzie Night Rider. Fog lamps are also FIAM, Head light is a 55/70 Watt Halogen Lucas unit.

A good Head Lamp, Horns and Fog Lamps always got me home.
