Grant's 10 second method is good with a bare frame, but it's no quite so easy when you have a complete bike to re-install an engine in. I use a hoist and swing the engine in from the left side with the bike upright. If you don't have a travelling crane, the job can be made easier if the bike is on a lift that has wheels, so you van manoeuvre it sideways under the dangling engine. I also use frame protectors. They reduce clearance a wee bit, but minimise paint gouges.
