Will re-chroming springs alter them?

Seems nobody has answered the question in the thread title "Will re-chroming springs alter them?"

The answer is yes, it'll make them nice and shiny.

 well that's good enough for me then!

:D thanks everyone, I'll take the plunge and if it bolloxes them I'll get some Konis  :D

Be aware of the Hydrogen embrittlement possibility though as it can happen.
I have seen it on numerous coil and leaf springs, front axles and spokes as mentioned and all sorts of silly things. However the percentage of problems arising is about 0.2% so don't worry yourself unduly. But it DOES happen.  Anyone doubting it should think how metals are nitrided, or even case hardened etc, chemical exposure, generally with heat but not always!

Chris,

If you dump your sparkly poncy new leathers you bought from Steven recently and wore your thin second hand eBay crap purchases, I'm sure the weight difference would improve your handling no end compared to a few extra microns thickness of chrome on your rear springs.

Take it or leave it mate.  :D :D :D :D :D

DoC!

PS: When should I book in the Corsa for the bling exercise?  8)
