Hi all
Have been searching the site and found some very good wiring diagrams, however can anyone direct me to where I can get an original Series 2 diagram. My Green book doesn't go that late - suppose reprints have them. Cape's version was very helpful but I would like to see an original - trying to ascertain what some of my left over wires belong to :-[
Thanks

Edit - found one on JLO's site but can't read it...........

Peter,

If you're referring to the white/blue, violet/blue(or green?) and yellow wires from the alternator, they end in Nirvana!  Just doubled connections of those that are used, easier to open the sheathing and snip them off to avoid future confusion!

Thanks Piet

I had worked out the wires from the Alt from Capes wiring diagram and found the 2 dead end ones, however I have some other ones with nowhere to connect. It was over 1 year ago when I took this apart and remember thinking it all looked straight forward............ Ignition is Sasche and these might now be surplus however I just can't remember :-[. The wires are a group leading from the main loom consisting of one Green/White, one Red/Green and 2 Red/White (which connect together at a "female" spade terminal). I also can't work out which wire connects to Red wire to R/R. Capes drawing shows red direct to battery but I 'm pretty sure that was not how it was.
I know this sounds pretty stupid but it all looked straightforward when I took it apart ???
That's why I was hoping to get an original series 2 diagram to check.
Thanks

If it's a R/R from Red ie came with the Sasche then the red wire goes straight to the battery. I'd like to see a 30 - 40 amp fuse in there but most don't bother.

Not sure about the others though.

Never seen a series 2 180 wiring diagram as far as I can remember but an RGS/120 Jota one will tell you everything you need to know. They are available to view on the ILOC website if you are a member.

The green/white and red/green pair hanging out of the main loom are the phase divert wires which switch one phase of the charging current up through the light switch then back down to the reg rec when the lights are on. I never bother connecting these they are a cause of problems, just run all three phases from the alternator direct into the reg rec. and leave the wires hanging. As Piet says if you cut back into the shrouding in the wire coming from the alternator you will find the three yellow phases which connect to the reg rec in any order.

Thanks Keith
I was pretty sure they hadn't been connected to anything.
Just need to work out where I had the red wire to/from R/R plugged in. Can't be that hard, must be missing something.
