Changed the o rings on the 750 about 500km ago as it was pissing out oil.

Has started leaking again, not majorly, but a slight weep, didnt have "factory" ones, but i ordered them from my local  hydraulic shop.

I replaced them with exactly the same size and yes they were viton.

The  rebate that the O ring sits in is larger in circumfrence than the actual O-ring. Is this normal or were the wrong size O-rings put in previously.

It doesnt look right as far as my previous experience with o-rings goes.

Preious ones were from a Formula Kit, so they may be different, but you wouldnt think so

Cosi,

No matter how often you renew them, they'll piss almost immediately.

You need to be sure the sealing surface is flat, ie, the cam cover gasket is flush with the sealing surface.  If it stands proud, it can be easily cut back.

The secret weapon is silicon sealant..... a thin layer applied to the sealing surface is enough to keep the sucker oil-tight.

As for  you Mr Carter, funnily enough I am also a master of the silicone, paddle pop stick, some soapy water and a bit of old carpet
