Hi i am hooking up a Zane electronic tacho to my RGS race bike and wonder if someone could post a Zane wiring diagram not sure which model Zane assuming the tachos all receive the signal the same way.
Tks

Peas in a pod Maurice. I too am electrically challenged at the moment.
My electronic tacho manual says to take power signal from + at coil. But the Ignitech needs power full time to +. I presume I need to put the wire to -.

DON'T DO THIS!

The Zane Tacho needs a 5,x Volt rectangular signal, taking the signal from the coil will burn the tacho within minutes as it gets well over 20 Volt there at higher revs.

The only way to do it is to use an ignitech box, which can deliver the right signal. without that, just don't do it, please.

How about the DMC2 box, will that give the correct signal to the zane tacho?

it would, if the pin would get a signal... standard is, it is not activated... Not sure Uwe would do it on a used box but potentially, against money, he would... At least I was told the DMC does have this capability (aside of many others, that are hidden and used for diagnostics and/or on the race-bikes Uwe used it for).

What about a Sachsa module

Maurice, there is one empty output on the Sachse box, it is marked Tacho, plug into that, will work fine

Chris, same as posted to Maurice, Ignitech box has a Tacho output, just connect to that
need to change the wiring loom so new wire is captive, swing by tomorrow or next week and we can set that up, work out what length wire you need

Black is ground, red is plus..  :D

Honestly:

Left side (black) is ground, right side (orange or brown) is plus and blue (center) needs to be connected to the ignition box, assuming the ignition box produces a frequence generated, rectangular signal with a constant 12 V

Maurice, don't forget to order pin connectors as well ............. when I ordered these Multilock 070 plugs, they didn't tell me I needed to order terminals too  ???

well - at least now it is written everywhere on the page...:

The MULTILOCK 070 range of automotive connectors consists of plug and receptacle housings and PCB headers for use in wire to wire and wire to board applications. The plug housings require female crimp contacts, the receptacle housings require male tab contacts. Crimp contacts must be ordered separately.

and on the right side, it shows the crimp contacts as "Essential Accessoris"

;)
