Zane Laverda 750S Injection mapping

  so - maybe we should throw our money together and ask someone with a Zane close to Cliff to get it sorted so we can share the maps.

Or pay Meinolf to get the WM16M sorted, if that is possible...  ::)

It is an interesting thread, but its been hijacked so its left with the wrong title.  The guy asked about injection and we are talking about ignition.  As I said, and for the record, injection is easy.  I have run the bike with a lambda sensor and data logger, but now I just use a Dyno calibrated open loop system with the PC 3 - has accelerator pump software too.  If anyone wants to buy a used lambda sensor kit - pm me (it will show you if you do have an injection mapping issue).

The ignition issue you are talking about sounds interesting - but it seems like no one on here has actually fixed it on a Laverda - is that right?  If anyone does know something perhaps they could start a thread with the words Zane and ignition in the title to help people later?

Well - as the mapping and the ignition correlate and belong together, I don't see the thread being hijacked to much really. Especially as one target was to overcome the shaking issue between 2.700 and 3.000, and that is not a fuel mapping issue but an ignition timing issue (or better: a feature in the software to overcome emission rules AFAIK). see original message from the thread starter:

Fixing just the fuel mapping will give you a bit more torque and high end power (there is a company offering a power commander setup for the 2000 Formula that claims to bring the bike to 105HP), but  it will not help on the ridability issue to much.

Heresy I know, but if the stock ECU is so hard to reprogram and it's the ignition that's throwing the whole thing out of kilter, why not just fit an Ignitech TCIP4 as an experiment?  Would be easy enough to try.  The stock ECU will not know it is no longer firing the plugs.

I wanted an "all-in-one and plug-and-play" solution. Ignitech is also selling alternatives for EFI systems, which would be an option, too. I just did not want to cut the original wiring harnes, i wanted a solution that plugs into the existing harnes. The My16M is installed in the original WM16M case of a dead unit bought through ebay. That makes it look and feel like the original thing...
