Zane Water pump

Helloo Experts

Just preparing the S for the Barry Sheene, hasnt been run for a while, has a pissy litle drip from out of the rotor drain,

Pulled it all apart and need to replace the pump housing O ring

Are these a standard o ring with a little persuasion for the kink or am i up for a special kinked ring,

Im thinking i can match the ring to a round one and get it going, bit of gentle heat some silastic, otherwise whats the postage time Piet

Pump impeller looked brand spankers,is original,  Distilled water and Motul BTW

Cosi if you get a chance have a chat with Bob Cordus about this, he is up your way and I think recently got connected with the north club,he had a problem with his Zane that I seem to remember stemmed from a leaking O ring on his water pump.Don't remember the details but it became a big problem.

Yeah we took Uncle Bob under the wing, i met him years a go in Sydney through his stepdaughter, It probably ran dry and cooked the pump, I think more his problem with the S was throwing it down the road, Its all pulled apart Vince, no riding till its fixed

When my 750S did that I pulled it apart to find a corroded impeller shaft had destroyed the seal. Dumbass po had run plain water with no coolant or rust inhibitor. I used a Speedi sleeve and a new o-ring and all was good.

If it's dripping from the drain hole, the internal seals are shot, usually the shaft and the bearing are gone too.  The seals wear sharp edged ruts in the surface, new seals are instantly destroyed if slid over these ruts.  Two types of shaft were used, will need dimensions, perhaps a pic or 2.

Should all be in stock at OCT, can check tomorrow.  Postage to Oz via airmail shouldn't be more than a couple of days.  Ask Yogi to check how long his letter took...
