Laverda Jota Ownership, second time around. (ramblings)

That's a nice sharp image, Carlo, with nice play on the depth of field. My iPhone 6 just takes crap photos - I can't get any clarity ... either damaged or a dud.

I have a Canon 5D SLR I bought new sometime after 2010, it has a 20MP capability but the iPhone is more versatile without the need for lots of expensive lenses.

I have an iphone 6 that used to take shit photos until I realised that there was a little clear plastic sticker over the lens to protect it. It should have been peeled off when I bought the phone. Once I realised it was there and peeled it off the photos were way better! Der ...

I'm not a huge fan of apple products though. I only have an iphone because I inherited it from my last job. I probably would have chosen some other brand like Samsung if I'd bought it myself.

Wow over a month and no post. No much fun to be had when all your mates are in greater Sydney and you’re stuck in the regions! To be be fair we’ve been preoccupied with finding somewhere to put down roots in NSW and that became all consuming for a while. Roll on 1st November!

On my recent 1 week trip thru Arizona & Utah, some of my riding friends used cheapo hard mounted cell phone mounts to the handlebars. The image stabilization mechanism crapped out around day 4 or 5. The displays in camera mode looked to be constantly shaking, not sure what the photos looked like after that. I used the Quad Lock with isolation mount on iPhone 10 with no issues.

I lost two IPhone 11 Pro cameras to vibration using normal quadlock. Told them and they denied it but said they would look into it, then I was invited to trial be part of their isolation trial and eventually sent me a voucher for a free one when it launched. Thankfully it’s never happened again, isolation mount a must with phones with fancy cameras.

Been a while between posts! Moved to Upper Hunter and apart from getting to grips with the new property we’ve had shitarse internet. nbn delayed installation and the nbn tech I happened to bump into in the area said he thought it was unlikely we’d get a signal! Have done two runs since we arrived a month ago and that’s it!

So as to enable me to post on the forum more regularly (😂) I’ve ordered a bit of kit from Mr Musk & Starlink.

Maybe there’s someone on the forum already running this gear or maybe you’ve never heard about (like me), but it’s designed for regional and remote areas that can’t get nbn connection or want an alternative to the nbn Sky Muster service, which is expensive if you use a lot of data. So will post back when I get it set up in a week or so.
