PHF36 Slide Issue

Ok, so the 74 SF2 is running.

I purchased new slides 50/3 for the PHF36As on the bike.  The new slides don't drop down as far into the barrel as the originals so it idles very, very high. Drop in my sorta nasty originals and all is well.

Any idea what went wrong here?

Machine off the bottoms?  Sounds sorts scary.

Read the whole description on the BevHev site. It says you may have to take some material off the ramp where the idle screw contacts it. It doesn't look too difficult.But the thought of taking a file to a new expensive slide is kinda scary.

Dellorto has altered the design of the idle screw/slide stop.  The new design slides need to be machined at the bottom, either on a mill/turntable or a lathe.  A Dremel and care paired with patience will also do the trick.

The new slides are narrower inside and will not clear the raised portion in the mixing chamber.
