Getting old

All I had was a canula in the back of my hand. No PIC line or any semi-permanent plumbing installed. It was all over in about an hour and I drove home. Feeling perfectly OK.
The stuff they're giving me is called Nivolumab. It's an immunotherapy drug which I've been told is way less horrible than nephrotoxic, cytotoxic or any other kind of toxic.

I know all about the negative pressure preparation of the drugs Paul. Many years ago, in my role as a mechanical engineer, I was involved in a hospital refurbishment. One of the tasks I was given was to design a preparation area for cytotoxic drugs. Basically a big fume cupboard, but with a whole lot of filtration on the exhaust to prevent the stuff from being discharged outside.
And the need for tanks for radioactive human waste.

Nice big wiring diagram Dave. It's a shame it's the wrong one.

I'm actually not joking. A while back you posted a photo of your red Jota (in the "Out and About on your Laverda" thread) which appears to be based on a 3CL. The wiring diagram you're holding up in the photo above is for a 3C. Their respective wiring systems are quite different.
Not quite sure what you are on about. My bike is a 78 1000, and the schematic I have is for the 'Post-1977 1000 and early 1200, with the CDI black box ignition ' as per page #174 in Tim Parker's Green Book, it is an exact match.
The 3C schematics and there are 2 of them, 1973 and then 1974 to 76 are a bit different but not much. I f you can read a schematic you can figure out your wiring easily enough as long as the PO's haven't modified it too much. I thought the moniker 3CL applied to the first 1000's with cast wheels and was not actually a different model?
On a different note to all, get your shots when you can, stay healthy be safe.

Cheers mate Dave

OK Dave, I stand corrected. I was under the impression that the CDI (aka Bosch HKZ) type ignition had been superseded by 1977 because my 1976 triple had the later BTZ system.

Just been to the Optometrist, definatly need a new len in the right side of my glasses, the supposed good eye and he tested my left eye at its weakest time 6 weeks since my last injection for Macular swelling, and tomorrow is my next injection so he will test it again in 2 weeks time and come up with a script that will work for both conditions or mid way between it being at its weakest and its best. I tried the stronger lens for the right eye, WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Its a shame it wont happen before the next 2 day ride though. Be good to see better. I had a suspicion my vision had dropped off a bit while riding

At 73, I got a Pfizer-shot on March 31st, booked a full physical for April 14 - Over and done - Passed, save 2 small hernias, occasional flaring hemorrhoids and a nagging skin rash due a Sulfate allergic reaction for the last 6 months.

Come April 21st going for blood work and PSA Test - No ejaculation for a week prior and no food 12 hours prior - At 73 if that's going to kill me.

Both my Grandfather at 67 and Dad at 84 died from prostate cancer: Hopefully, I take after my Mother's side whom brother's and sister made to 86.

Biggest plus I got is that I no longer ride motorcycles ;o)

OH Yah! Over weight by some 30 lbs, told to stop smoking and quit the Scotch and lay off Laverda Forums ;o)

Cam, I put up with a pain in my right buttock for about 5 years before it was diagnosed and treated correctly. Pinched sciatic nerve.
There's a range of exercises designed to free trapped nerves, it's a case of try them all till one works. Half-pushups, hips still on the ground worked for me.
DoC - the old man got hung on the fence by Lionel Van Praag in the 30's. Leading him 1-0 in a match race series at the time....Anyway, he went to hospital with a ripped ballsack. Sewn up and 2 sons later, his comments echo yours re pain. Tough bastards back then.

I'd love to be able to taste something - anything ! Since about week 4 of radiation I have no sense of taste at all. No eating solids either, mainly liquid diet. Finished it about 10 days ago and burn damage is still coming out. They tell me it's almost peaked......

Sciatic nerve pain is not pleasant.I had referred chest pain the first time it happened and I thought I was having a Heart Attack. My first time was in my early 20s doing stupid stuff with a long plank on a roof. You soon learn that its not smart to bend your back and twist at the same time or lift stupidly heavy stuff. It would happen every 4 or 5 years with a very unpleasant couple of weeks recovery with plenty of Physio.

Nowadays, at over 62 years old, I can't believe that when I was 19 I lifted a 750 cc engine on my own onto the work bench - complete with starter,.... of course.
You're not fifty anymore ;-)
Today I use a lifting table or a pulley system with a trolley.

I reckon the last time I did that I was in my 40s! And I'm a short arse, so it was hard to get it up that high! Not trying that trick again!

Took me several months for it to come back. Fortunately it came back 100%.

You Guys are making me feel guilty as I maybe the healthest 73 year old on this forum.

I do suffer a left side paralysis with vanadium wire holding my neck C4/C5 vertebra together stemming from a 85 Auto accident were a tie rod broke and I parked a Volvo in a tree. Aside from breaking my neck, I broke all my ribs a perforated my bladder. Was in traction for something like 6 months including surgery - Docs said it was a wonder that I survived. The Docs wanted to put me on Oxycontin for the pain but I elected for Tylenol 1 which I should take 2's a day along with a Mickey of Scotch - Seems my liver is holding out ;o)

A joint of Weed a day does wonders but I really can't smoke the stuff.

Pisst. Edibles. Edibles!
Really considering them Gummy Bears.

I do recall a time when my Girl friends baked chocolate Hashes brownies ;o)

Gummy here I come - Should cut down on my Smoking and Alcohol intake.

Easy to buy that stuff (Tax Free) off the local Native reserves here in Canada.

The issue is the Law can come down on you if you are caught "Off Reservation" but rarely enforced if it amount to a few grams. You can not be charged with say an ounce or two for personal use as long as authority can't prove you are dealing.

Dealing is a Federal Offense yet Indigenous Reserves are immune - Go figure ?

Same law pertaining to Reservation Gambling Casinos under the BNA Act - I should think North American Natives want to ensure the British Monarchy last's for ever. Natives including one of my best friends just smirks and call it "Harvesting". He has never invested in Permits or say purchased Gun, He says let the White man do it, I'm just along for the ride and making a living of it.

-------------------------

Look at this News story where Canadian Fishers Authority boasted busting Americans for catching more then their count of Salmon off the B.C. coast. The link has been DELETED - Although the link has been deleted, them Americans should have know is that all you need is one Native Canadian with a Status Card on board to escape the charges.

The story was there 2 days days ago on every Canadian News Channel but can not be found now.

I've seen Native Canadians desolate numerous lakes of Fish by dynamite and netting and in turn sell the fish to restaurants in Toronto.
Saying Native People insist of preserving their Mother Earth is as fallibly in my opinion - They're in for the money.

Having recently turned 70, I'm eligible for the first round of Covid vaccinations to the Aussie public. Got the Astrazeneca injection from my GP on Monday. No serious side effects. Felt a little bit crap the next day and had a sore arm for a couple of days, but I get that from the normal 'flu jab so no great surprise there.
