What did you do to or for or with your Laverda today?

Had the carbs off Joan Collins to fit a RGS type fuel rail - tidy solution -all back together sprayed the airbox up - hopefully runs ok when I get on the road - she does start always a worry when you disturb everything

After fitting new carb banjo gaskets and filters supplied in rapid style by ducatipaddy, today I waved au revoir to my 3CL as it was taken away to get MOT’d tomorrow ... tock, follows tick follows tock...

Fine weather here too! Time to bring the Mighty Mirage out of her winter sleep. I fitted the new, super-duper MOSFET RR. (Thanks for the recommendation, Paul!) Against all odds, thereafter she sprang to life and nary one wisp of smoke escaped from the wiring harness. 'twas a good day!

Removed tank and panels from the GT ready for painting and off to the sprayer- going back to original factory silver blue for the first time in 35 years! Had to remove the Bakelite knee pads , that was fun.
does anyone happen to know the correct thread size for the tank badges?

Worked on the choke button of my mikunis - I couldn't pull it out the last millimeter because it hit the pet cock:

Doing what I believe is the first valve adjustment on my 3C at 3500 miles, one tight intake, and two just under spec exhausts , shims are right in the middle size wise, everything looks real nice, can’t wait to ride

Continuing with the bike bought "with no issues"...Finally got an opportunity to pull the rotor and adjust pickup position and correct timing. No apparent degradation of wires, so button up and head around test loop yet again....Whaaaat! still stumbling 2-3000. Ok. Back to basics. Despite plug wires being new, I was intrigued that my new strobe was not functioning when connected to number 3 wire, which confusingly has the best looking plug colour. Even tested wire with expensive Fluke meter. What else to do? Substitute the said wire with what I had. Viola! No stumble! Another issue solved. Go figure?

Thought I should measure valve clearances before a proper ride. Geez. 0.46 on intake #3. Why am I not surprised?
Upon reading period owner manual, I set about adjusting to 0.25 to 0.35, observing the drawing of an 0.35 feeler guage inserted.
I'm reading here that 0.20 to 0.25 is correct. Did Laverda engineers back in the day suggest sloppy clearances?
Forgive me if I've missed possible previous thread on this subject.

Thanks Vince Good to know. I'm following the thread on valve clearances in 'technical', along with original owners manual.
Our mutual acquaintance at 'Laverda central' also.

When I was at Stanco, there was specs from the factory for 3C that had as you say 0.25 to 0.35 for valve clearance that did not mention inlet or exhaust. At that time it also seemed that the cams moved so much in the cam blocks that we used those figures for the greatest clearance at any point of the base circle, not at TDC by any markings, as the clearance was inconsistent even a few degrees either side of a "TDC".
