Laverda specialist in the USA

You blokes down under are so lucky to have the services of Red and Max, I know, I know, some of you are on the same continent albeit  3000 miles away on the other side, plus you also have Greg Dam another Laverda man.

The UK has Keith Nairn, I know up in Scotland yeah but whats that a days drive with your engine in the boot or the whole bike in the back of a van, couple of nice Pub stops on the way. Let me put a mention in for Malcolm Cox and Slaters too in the UK plus you have the knowledge of Phil Todd

Here in the USA there is currently no Laverda specialists (that I know off) Scott Potter is  a fantastic Laverda specialist unfortunately out of action for the moment I'm hoping to see him back soon. Wolfy is parts up in Canada but in the USA, 50 states and and not one of them has a shop that specializes Laverda. Lance Weill (aka Rickey Racer) was the last Laverda specialist that I know of, any one know of anyone doing Laverda business in the USA? I can  get some generalized parts from Bevel Heaven and Pro Italia no problem but they're not Laverda guys. I think if there was a Laverda specialist in the US he would be on this site, anyone know of such a place in USA?  Dave

You may have made yourself a few enemies there because I think there are quite a few more Laverda specialists over Europe way. Some are even quite competent.

Enemies? I think not.
I was lucky to find Ged at GCS down near Bournemouth in the UK on the south coast. Knows his stuff, lovely little workshop, often overlooked when people list specialists too.

Paul I am well aware of many expert Laverda specialists in Europe  :o, do I have to list them all before I can inquire into the existence of a speciallist in the USA? :D

Certainly not but you make a list which is restrictive. That's a choice. You could have said that we are very lucky in Europe having plenty of Laverda specialists.

Just like you're very lucky having plenty of Harley specialists in the States.

Used to be Scott Potter, did the initial work on my white 3C when he found it in Minnesota looking like an Anniversary but that was before my ownership. Was very helpful on letting me know more about the bike. Used to be here on the forum,,no longer, think some issues cropped up,but his work on the whole was very good.

Yes Shaun, Scott has had a bad run lately, I know a few people have had some problems with him, but he's always been more than helpful to me, he's hoping to have a place of his own next year. I've heard there is a good Laverda mechanic somewhere in Connecticut, I'll see if I can get his name

Scott Potter has been in Denver since early this year, and is working as a mechanic at a shop owned by a friend of mine called MotoWorks Denver <https://motoworksdenver.com/>. I visited him there today. In addition to financial crises that cost him his home/shop in New Mexico and the theft of a well-restored SFC soon after he got to Denver, he has had a run of serious health issues with his eyes, but he is recovering well from surgeries now and his normally sunny disposition is in residence.

The summer business at the shop is winding down now and the owner is starting to worry about having enough work for Scott this winter. Depending on what you are looking for, I think Scott could be able to help you. I'm planning to have him do a few things on my Laverdas over the winter. You can reach Scott at <motolaverda@gmail.com>.

Hi Eric

that shop looks interesting, offering work bays for enthusiasts to work on their own bikes with expert guidance. I really hope everything works out for Scott, divorce, Texas to New Mexico, to Colorado, medical issues, etc.. Miss seeing him here on this forum, please say hi to him for me next time you see him.

nahhh, you've all got it wrong, what you need to do is just dance her around the floor a few times (Mick never would dance but she loved to) and then she is like putty in ones Germans,
first hand experience, I remember her well, the life and soul of the many ILOC parties that we did at one time have.

Good advice. I hope to visit soon so maybe I'll wait for the music to start and I'll try that out. Mick and Rita have moved to a new place and Mick is very concerned with building a new shop so I'm sure he wouldn't even notice.
